Integer Song: Coordinate Plane (Ugly 2NE1)

    Chorus: Coordinate Planes
    are formed by the
    intersection
    of the x-
    axis and the y-axis
and the axes meet at the point
    called the origin

    Coordinate planes
    are something
    You should be learning,
    You use them by
    identifying
    and plotting
    points in it~~~
    cuz I know
    they’re useful

    The coordinate plane is~
    divided into 4 quadrants
    that cross at the origin
    which is (0,0)

Points in a coordinate plane are
    represented by ordered pairs
The 1st number is the x
and the 2nd number is the y coordinate

  2. Song Lyrics: Multiplying and Dividing Integers
(in tune to "I’m Yours" by Jason Mraz)

    Multiplying integers
    Simple and easy
    Time to learn some math!

    To multiply integers,
    These are the rules

    Integers
    With the same signs
    Have a positive product

    Different-signed
    Integers
    Have a negative product

    Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-math!!

Use your pencil and your brain
    Multiplying and dividing~
    Hip hip hurray!
    Go multiply, multiply
    And divide
    Hip hip hurray! hurray!

    Here are some
    examples of multiplying
    Integers~

    2 x 3 = 6
    -3 x 4 is
    -12

    -5 x -6
    30
    is the answer

    And of course
    -10 x 100
    is -1000

Use your pencil and your brain!
    Multiplying and dividing~
    Hip hip hurray!
    Go multiply, multiply
    And divide

    Time for dividing integers

    To divide
    You gotta know the rules

    Integers with same signs
    have a positive quotient

    Integers with different signs
    have a negative quotient

And nothing’s gonna stop solving these dividing integer problems

So, use your pencil and your brain!
    Multiplying and dividing~
    Hip hip hurray!
    go divide
    Multiplying and dividing~
    Hip hip hurray!
    go multyply and divide

    Lastly, examples of
    Dividing integers
    To clear things up

    4 ÷ 2 is 2
    -10 ÷ 5
    = -2

    -18 ÷ -9
    = 2
    Using these
    Integer rules

    You’ll be a pro with integers~

Use your pencil and your brain!
    multiplying and dividing~
    Hip hip hurray!
    Go multiply, multiply
    And divide, divide
    Hip hip hip hurray!
    Come on, come on
    Use your pencil
    Multiply, divide
    Those integers!

    Now we’re talking about
the associative property of our math
where we’re dealing with the parenthesis
that it is the same wherever you put it
    for the example
when b,c is combined, and a is all alone
    you can change the place

  4. Emily & Victoria - Integer project Lyrics (distributive property)

    Distributive property
    is quite quite simple
and we are here to tell you what it’s all about

    A times the sum of
    B plus C simplified is
A times B plus A times C there is your answer
    (Oh yeah)

    Separating, breaking numbers into parts
Making numbers easier to work with

    Always easy to remember
    You’ll memorize it by December
Just work hard and you will get it
    Distributive (pop)

In my mind I solve the answer
Right away! So quick and simple
A very very good math process
    Distributive (Pop)

    Distributive property
    is quite quite simple
and we are here to tell you what it’s all about

    A times the sum of
    B plus C simplified is
A times B plus A times C there is your answer
    (Oh yeah)

    Let’s try a quick example
    4 times 27 is
    4 times 20 plus 4 times 7
    See, it’s quick and easy
    Stanza 4 :
Should we give you another example
    5 times 11 is
    5 times 10 plus 5 times 1
See, I told you it’s easy

Chorus / Stanza (end and start) :
    Separating, breaking numbers into parts
Making numbers easier to work with

You should get the idea by now
Cause it’s quite simple and easy
If you don’t, just put your hands up
    Distributive (Pop)

The people who put your hands up
Come and listen, so you learn

    Something About Subtracting

Wake up to the blue sky
Grab your notepad let's go for a ride
    Lesson by the ocean
We'll do subtraction with numbers alright
Every day's a dream in Mr. Jobe’s class
Every night our friends are so excited
Wish that I could always feel this way

    There's something about subtractin baby
I'm seeing it in a different view
I’m feeling this way for the first time baby
    Ohhh it's so right
    There's something about subtractin’
    There's something about sub-sub-sub-subtractin’

    In math class we're rockin'
    Lets start with subtractin’ alright
(First let’s start with positive integers, say you have a five minus nine. Find the absolute value of both numbers, and subtract the larger absolute value from the smaller one. So, nine minus five. Take the sign of the larger absolute value, which is nine. The answer is four, but since the five is in front of the nine in the equation, the final answer in negative four.)
    It’s all about the signs
    From minus to positive yea
Everything’s so fun and now we’re in it
I don't wanna feel this thrill alone
When I see subtractin I always feel at home

    There's something about subtractin baby
I'm seeing it in a different view
I’m feeling this way for the first time baby
    Ohhh it's so right

Now that we’re here (now that you're here)
It's suddenly clear (it's suddenly clear)
    My mind’s comin' through
    I never knew
Whatever I do it's better with you
It's better with you (Yea yea)

    There's something about subtractin baby
I'm seeing it in a different view (whole new light)
I’m feeling this way for the first time baby (baby)
Ohhh (ohh) it's so right (so right)
    There's something about subtraction baby
I'm seeing it in a different view (a whole new light)
I’m feeling this way for the first time baby
    Ohhh it's alright (so right)
There's something about our math class baby (math class baby)
Let’s live our life when we cannnnnnnn
Now we know how to subtract yea baby(out of this world)
Ohhhh it's so right (it's so right)
    There's something about subtracting
There's something about sub- sub- sub- sub tracting

Intro: You want to know how to add integers?
    Lets start

    Together: Just remember this,
Positive numbers added together equals positive number
Negative numbers added together equals negative number
Positive and negative? subtract the smaller absolute value from the greater one, sign that was with greater absolute value comes with it

Doohwan: Positive numbers, just add them, positive sign comes with it, simple as that.
Phillip: Negative numbers, just add them, negative sign comes with it, simple as that.
Phillip & Doohwan: Negative and positive numbers, subtract the smaller absolute value from the greater absolute value, sign that was with greater absolute value comes with it, simple as that.

    Doohwan: Very simple eh?
Phillip: Now lets look at some examples,
Doohwan: Two added by three, whats the answer?
    Together: Five!

Doohwan: Negative two added by negative three, whats the answer?
    Together: Negative Five!
Phillip: Negative eight added by three, whats the answer?
    Together: Negative Five!

    Together: Just remember this,
Positive numbers added together equals positive number
Negative numbers added together equals negative number
Positive and negative? subtract the smaller absolute value from the greater one, sign that was with greater absolute comes with it

Doohwan: You have learned how to add integers,
Phillip: Same signs, different signs, no problem.
Doohwan: You can now solve any integer addition problem.
    Together: How cool is that.

    Together: Just remember this,
Positive numbers added together equals positive number
Negative numbers added together equals negative number
Positive and negative? subtract the smaller absolute value from the greater one, sign that was with greater absolute comes with it

Together: Adding integers isn’t that hard
    Keep trying, keep practicing..
    Remember the rules...
    Integers... Integers... Integers!!!

Subtracting Integers Song(Lazy Song by: Bruno Mars)

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like doing anything, but learning math would be okay
'Cus today we’re learning all about integers.

So first to subtract integers that have the same signs
First just simply subtract them as you would usually do
And put the same sign at the end

Then to subtract integers that have different signs
Subtract the two numbers ignoring the signs
Put the sign of the larger absolute value.

Oh yes, I did it, I did it
I did it, 'cause I can

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like doing anything, but learning math would be okay
'Cus today we’re learning all about integers.
Subtracting, woo hooo woo hoo hoo, Integers, woo hooo woo hoo hoo

So first to subtract integers that have the same signs
First just simply subtract them as you would usually do
And put the same sign at the end

Then to subtract integers that have different signs

Oh yes, I did it, I did it

I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like doing anything, but learning math would be okay
'Cus today we’re learning all about integers.

No, I ain't gonna have some fun
    'Cause I ain’t going anywhere
No, No, No, No No, No, No, No, No, No

    But I'll just subtract 5 and 2
And have a solution of the number 3.
    Na, Na, Na, Na, Na
    Na, Na, Na, Na, Na

Ohhhh, Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like doing anything, but learning math would be okay

  9. Somebody once asked me what absolute value was

I ain't the smarted kid in the school

I was looking kind of dumb with my finger and my thumb

In the shape of an "L" on my forehead

Well I am not so smart so I don’t know what it is

Somebody gotta teach me what it really means

Don’t tell me, you’ve gotta explain it, or else

Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb

So much to see so much to learn

I gotta learn it before the test

You’ll learn it in a spilt second

    Follow along the song

Hey now I will teach you what absolute value is

Hey now you’ll learn it fast, its not so hard

The distance between a number and zero

on a number line, thats what absolute value is

If you see a number inside a 2 bar jail

To Free the number, you need to figure out the number’s absolute value

For example, if the number is 3

Distance between 3 and zero on number line is ..3

Then 3’s absolute value is 3

    easy peasy lemon squeezey

    Then another problem for you

What is the abolute value of negative 3

Hey now you can solve it, its easy easy!

Hey now you can just count from negative 3 to zero

then the absolute value of negative 3 is three

    Its Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezey

Now, heres the hard part, but you’ll survive though it

What if theres an negative sign in front of the jail

First figure out the absolute value of the number in the jail

Then add the negative sign to the absolute value of the number

    Hey Now!!! You’ve Got It!

    Absolute Value-Jin Kim

Today I don’t feel like doing anything,
I just wanna do some math,
    Gonna pick up my book

Take some problems get a hook,
‘cause today i just wanna do some math.....

    im gonna use math
    and stare the page
    turn my brain on
    throw myself in the math
    using absolute value
    ya.........

    ill be using the value
    just take the two lines
    in the number,
    ‘cause its absolute value.

    the answer is always positive
Today i don't feel like doin’ anything
i just wanna do some math....
got to use the number line and the distance from zero,
    cause its absolute value.......
