Sorry it was late!! I had misunderstood and thought i had a different equation.

Liz and Michelle were having a sleepover, and they decided to go to Coex. But, since they decided to invite Ina too. They met at Coex, and were wondering about what to do to keep themselves entertained. The girls agreed to go to the movie theatre to watch a movie, and the entrance fee was $2 plus the fee for snacks. Altogether, the snacks and entrance fee combined multiplied by the number of girls was $24 in total. How much were the snacks per person?

    1) We think that this question doesn't fit the equation. It would have been better if you guys made the situation more reasonable.

    2) It's a little confusing because its not organized well, but we still get the point.

    3) There was one grammar mistake. It was this sentence, "But, since they decided to invite Ina too". It would have been better if it was written as “They decided to invite Ina too.”

    They story is really creative.

    5) The story was creative and interesting.

    1) Does the story fit with the equation? Is it functional? Would you actually write this equation from this word story problem?
We think you guys did pretty good job on changing the problem into a real life situation. Also it is functional ! Yes I think I would actually write this equation.

    2) Does it make sense, or is it a little confusing? Discuss what is not clear, and suggest improvements.
It makes sense but there is a very little bit confusing part.I think it would be more clear if they change “entrance fee was $2 plus the fee for snacks” to, entrance fee, plus $2.00 for snack.
    3) Are there any grammatical mistakes? How should they be corrected?
“But, since they decided to invite Ina too.” can be changed. I think they can write like they decided to invite Ina too.
    4) Is the story creative? How could it be made better?
Yes it was pretty creative. They even tell the readers how they went to a movie theatre.
What are the positive points about the word problem?
    It was interesting and creative.

  4. 1. Does the story fit with the equation? Is it functional? Would you actually write this equation from this word story problem?
The story does fit with the equation. It is functional and they gave good steps in the word problem, making it more clear :)

    2. Does it make sense, or is it a little confusing? Discuss what is not clear, and suggest improvements.
It makes sense and I enjoyed reading and trying to solve their word problem.

    3. Are there any grammatical mistakes? How should they be corrected?
I think it would have been better if they changed "since they decided to invite ina too" to " They decided to invite ina as well".

    4. Is the story creative? How could it be made better?
The story was creative and clear and that made it easy for me to follow along while reading the word problem. If they made the word problem with more details, it would have been better.

    5. What are the positive points about the world problem?
I was specific, making it easier to solve the problem. I also like the story line.

They met at Coex, and they were thinking about what to do to keep themselves entertained. The girls agreed to go to the movie theatre to watch a movie, and the entrance fee was $2 and they bought snacks for x amount of dollars. Altogether, the snacks and entrance fee combined multiplied by the number of girls totaled to be $24. How much were the snacks per person? In other words, find x.
