2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was 'fast-walking' to everywhere around the whole KIS campus. We were out of breath when we reached Mr. Nies, the high school top floor, and the blue area.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think it would be a bit better if there were more clues. It was still fun though, but adding more clues could be a bit more easier and enjoyable.

5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I think that practice will be the most important the most thing I will do. Second, I will read the textbook over, reading the rules and the ways to do the problems.
Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
ReplyDeleteWhat was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
I really loved trying to find the chess court, at first, that was the place I was thinking of.. but I second guessed myself, which I shouldn’t have because my team could have gotten second or third place.
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
I really didn’t like not being able to run.. or shout..
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)

3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I wouldn't change a thing about the Scavenger Hunt, honestly. I had so much fun playing it, and it was also a good review! It wasn't like a boring worksheet review. I really enjoyed myself. Maybe next time, the last clue could be a little more specific. Keep up the Scavenger Hunts! :)
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
I think I could work on simplifying fractions and putting them into scientific notation. On the last leg of the journey, Emily and I got the wrong answer and spent too much time thinking about something that wasn't even correct. I understand the concept, but I keep making silly mistakes in simplifying.
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I will prepare by studying and practicing the math concepts with a fellow classmate, Michelle Bae. Working with others always helps me study for tests. At home, I'll also try several problems from each section of the textbook for practice.
1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)

What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed playing Scavenger Hunt for so many reasons. First of all, I liked solving problems in groups (Dohee and Michelle) because we can compare ideas and solutions for each questions. Second of all, I enjoyed it since I got competitive feelings to get in the first place. Lastly, I liked to walk around the school and hunt for the questions! (It was very entertaining :)
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
I disliked the fact that people are following us whenever we find where the questions are located :(
What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think there is really nothing to change about the Scavenger Hunt because it is already so good. One thing I wish to get changed is Mr. Jobe giving different problems to each group (I think this will be a very challenging thing to revise.)
Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
I think I still have foundational gaps in my mathematical knowledge for scientific notations. I am not really sure to change the numbers in decimal forms and change the exponent. For example, if I had to change 0.78 x 102 into scientific notations, I am not really positive about that. I always get that part confused.

I do not have anything that I don't understand. I can solve every question in my mind fast and almost everything without making mistakes.
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I will first look at all my quizzes and tests I did in math and see what kind of problems are going to be out in the final. Also, I'll look at the study guide I made before for the tests.
1. What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDelete- My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that we get to run all over the school and have fun, but than we can still review for the test. Another favorite part was when we had to find the king of the school.
2. What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
- My least favorite part was when we had to answer five problems in the beginning. The other problems had a hint that led to them, but only the first five problems didn’t have a hint that led to it.
3.What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
- I would add or change the places to make the Scavenger Hunt better because if we have less places, than it would be less fun and we would have less places to go to. I would also have the scavenger hunt in the G building, in the elementary building, and in the high school building.
4.Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?

5.This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
- I will go over the answers I got wrong on my tests and quizzes, and I will answer questions on the topic that I need the most help with.
1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the scavenger hunt was that it felt just like a test, but we know if we got it wrong or not, so it gave me practice.
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part of the scavenger hunt was that it was very hard to go up and down the stairs and it was hard to find the next place is.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I would more word problem questions, because I struggle most with that. Other than that, it was very helpful.
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
I think this scavenger hunt helped me understand and gave me practice on hard and long problems. I still struggle with some problems, but I think the only way to fix that is to practice.
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I’m going to practice mostly on word problems and solve some of the challenges on the textbook. I will try to ask Mr. Jobe more questions for the problems I don’t understand.
1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was trying to find the King. I liked this because we were fast-walking around and trying to find it. I liked how we had to guess and people were following us and going to the wrong place.
2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was when we first started. I didn’t like it because we had to do five math problems. The other problems had fun clues, but only the first one was boring. I think you should make it a clue or something like that.
3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
There should be more parts to it. We should have more clues in which we should think more. Also, I think we should do it again in the Spring or Summer (it was really cold). Also, in the first clue, I think we should have a more fun finding the clue out instead of doing five problems.
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
I understand everything, but I need to practice. I think I still need to work on GCF and LCM. Scientific notation, in my opinion is okay, but I need to remember to put it in scientific notation. Sometimes I forget some steps.
5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I will do the tests and quizzes on the textbook and study my old tests and quizzes. I will look at what I keep on getting wrong, and study that. Also, I could do the review packet. I will especially study things I got wrong on my old quizzes and tests in this class.
Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
ReplyDelete1.What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was how thrilling and fun it was. It wasn’t only solving about math but we needed to find out clues too. It was as if like we were in a mystery movie.
2.What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
It is really hard to pick my least favorite part, but I do have two. One was that when one group finds out where to go, there were some group s that followed them. It’s not really a serious cheating but it wasn’t my favorite part of the scavenger hunt either. The second thing is that we had to run even though we were told not to, it was impossible because all of us were. But the thing is, we didn’t get caught.
3.What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I wish there were more problems, with wide variety of level. For example, two hard questions, 5 normal questions, and 8 easy questions. Not that many of course in real scavenger hunt though.
4.Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
I wish I reviewed a little more before today. I remember learning the concepts and remember a little, but not completely. I can’t really pick out which ones I missed, but I didn’t quit get all of them.
5.This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I will try to study them right before the day of the exam and ask Mr.Jobe if I have questions that I don’t get. Also, I will take some time to review them step by step.
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?

5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
Well this isn't my first time taking finals so I know what it's like but I'm not that confident. I'm going to go over the rules and ask Mr.Jobe questions.
This is my final exam so I'm nervous. But by doing the Scavenger Hunt was helpful. I think the finding the lace was the best because it was hard but fun. The worst was the last part. It was hard to find the last place because it says king and I never thought of the chess. There is nothing to change on Scavenger Hunt. I loved the the game it will helped me with my exam. I thank about the game. The game was fun to learn and easy to review my exam. And I'm sorry I post late.
ReplyDeleteWhat was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was finding out the clues and going around the campus.
What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)

5) This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
I am very nervous for taking the finals, but it makes me more nervous since I am the only 6th grader. Since its my first time taking finals, I don't really know how I need to get ready for it, but I am currently reviewing every chapters from chapter 1. Also, I will look at the additional test practices in our textbook.
Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
ReplyDeleteI think for most of the part, my mathematical knowledge is okay and I can solve pretty much all the word problems and simple problems we had to solve this unit. But nobody’s perfect! I think the part I could use a bit more practice is deciding whether a number is prime or composite, because sometimes I think composite numbers are prime and solve a question wrong. However, if I concentrate, I think I will be able to answer all the questions correctly. I know I mastered all the other concepts because I feel very comfortable with them, and I don’t make many careless mistakes.
This is the first time that you have ever had to take a final exam. Name at least two ways that you will prepare for your mathematics final.
- 2 ways I will prepare for the math finals is to look over the old tests and correct all my mistakes, and to continuously solve word problems and time myself.
4) Do you still have foundational gaps in your mathematical knowledge? (aka: Are there concepts from class that you still do not understand?) If so, what are they? Be honest. If not, how do you know you have mastered all of the concepts?
