6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
answers:
1. positive integers.
2. yes because we explained the ways to add up integers by rapping.
3. Though this process I have learned that adding integers is a very easy thing to do.
4. I rapped and said the rules of adding integers.
5. An A or A- because me and steve really worked hard and we took days to finish this project.
6. i think we would have to work on more time saving because we had too much academies that we were only able to meet for a few hours.
What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteMe and Chloe were trying to teach subtracting negative and positive integers.
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think we did successfully accomplished our goal because Chloe and I were both satisfied with our song and what it had sounded like.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned that making a math song isn’t easy.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I edited the track and shared it to itunes and made the mp3.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I would give myself an A because was satisfied with our song and the way it sounded.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I would probably say that I could have done better at editing the track, because it had some parts where it sounded a bit rough.
What math concepts were you trying to teach? Our goal was to to teach the listeners how to subtract integers.
ReplyDeleteDid you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not? I think we did pretty good because we had a catchy chorus, and Michelle explained how to subtract integers very thoroughly. I couldn’t have done it better myself.
What did you learn throughout this process? I learned that making a math song was harder than I thought it would be.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project? I made the lyrics (not the speaking part, Michelle did that), picked the song, and sang with Michelle.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why? I would give myself an A, or maybe an A-. Because we worked pretty hard on this and I personally love the song. Plus, in the speaking part Michelle thoroughly explains how to subtract integers.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.) I think me and Michelle worked really well as a group, because we are very close friends, and we both enjoy singing, so I really don’t think we needed to improve our team work. But I think we could’ve improved our song by making sure that every single duet part had the exactly same tempo because in some parts we’re slightly off from each other.

ReplyDelete1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
Annie and I were trying to teach the concept Subtracting Integers.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
Yes, because we explained ways to subtract integers in both ways.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
Through the process I learned that making a math song that sounds right is very, very hard.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I wrote the Chorus some of the other choruses and edited the song.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
Maybe a B because we worked hard on it but we wern't very succesful with our recording.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
Maybe on the lyrics because the song sounded a little bit weird and for the most part we made our voices higher so it didn't sound like ours...

ReplyDelete1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
We were trying to teach some properties of math(commutative, associative, inverse, identity and multiplying 0).
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
Yes I fell like I successfully accomplished my goal because we tried our best to make our songs. Also we put in a lot of effort in the project.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learn about basic properties for example commutative, associative, inverse, identity and multiplying 0.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
After we finish recording I cut it and put the songs and voice together. Also I wrote lyrics together with Kevin. Also I chose song with Kevin. I sing the song and recorded.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I think I will give A because all the lyrics made sense also the examples and we finished all things we needed to do.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think we could have stay on task more. In other words, we stayed on task but as the time passes and gets late our concentration fell while we were finishing up.
Self-Reflection Questions :
ReplyDeleteWhat math concepts were you trying to teach?
Emily and I were trying to teach how the distributive property worked. We also gave about 2 examples. In the chorus, we repeated the part that explained how to do a(b+c) with distributive property.
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think I accomplished about 80% ~ 90% of my goal. The other part is that we kind of missed a rhythm and in the song. Also, the words couldn’t be 100% clear because of the effect.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learnt that making and recording songs were quite harder than I thought. I also learnt that we could do the project with our macs and also learnt more about garageband.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I did most of the garageband and editing part. I also contributed about 30% ~ 40% of the lyrics.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
On group-work, I would give myself an A- because sometimes, I couldn’t hear Emily during the call or, I would not see her chat and see what I had to do, and what she wanted or needed me to do in the editing and lyrics.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (Staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think I should work on staying on task because while Emily and I were calling with each other for the project, I seemed to look at other things like facebook, youtube videos, and others.
1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to teach the distributive property.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
No because our singing wasn’t perfect and we only had some parts in the song that taught us about distributive property.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned that making lyrics aren’t as easy as I thought. I also learned that teaching math isn’t easy.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
We tried to make the song fun, so lots of people would want to listen to our song and kids would have fun learning about math.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
We would give ourselves A- our B+ because we tried hard, but our work wasn’t perfect and our lyrics were sort of non-sense because we had to fit the lyrics in the rhythm.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think we should have chosen a better song that the rhythm is easier so that we can match the lyrics better.
Me and my partner’s job is trying to teach subtracting integers. We turned in late and we sang terrible but we tried hard. I leaned all about subtracting integers. In the group I sang a song. Well, we post to write lyrics but she just wrote everything and gave it to me and sing! I should get A- because I sang a song terrible not Dohee and for the group, I thing we should get A+ because even though it’s terrible we tried our best and we changed a little it’s gonna be really funny!! Next time when I do this again I will sing better and help my partner more because I don’t think I didn’t helped her too much.
ReplyDeleteWhat math concepts were you trying to teach? Subtracting Integers
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
No, because I did not turn in on time and I did not sing well. well, I tried my best on it.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned all about subtracting integers.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I sang a song
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I should get A-, but group work we should get least A+ because even though my group did bad we tried our best and it is really funny.
1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteWe were trying to teach the concepts on ‘How to add integers’.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I did feel like I successfully accomplished my goal, not very fully though. Me and my partner was successful of being completing the song and able to teach the concept in the song. But I feel like we could have made it more good-to-hear and funnier.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
While working on this project with my partner, I learned that it is very important to use time more usefully. Me and my partner did work hard when working on it, but it would have been better if we tried really hard in the beginning (class time) to finish it. If we did, we would’ve had more time to edit and feel relieved.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
To contribute to this project, I gave my partner the ideas of creating the lyrics and discussed. Also after recording the song, I edited it again and again to make sure that there wasn’t any mistakes(there still might be some mistakes though). Later, I chose the song to put it into our background.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I don’t know about the quality of the project, but on the group-work I would give an A or A-. Our group worked really hard on it and always ask each other “What should we do?” or “Do you think this will be okay?” before deciding o what to do.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think this is both independent & group skill. I want to improve on finishing work more quicker and faster, because then we wouldn’t have to worry on when we are going to finish the project. Even though we thought there was a lot more time, it wasn’t actually that long. Time past really quickly.

What math concepts were you trying to teach?
I was trying to teach about absolute values.
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think I successfully accomplished my goal because I was able to sing the lyrics with the right rhythm.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned that making and singing math songs are quite hard. Also, I learned more about absolute values.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I brainstormed the idea of the song, made the lyrics, and sang the song.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
Well, I didn’t have a partner, but then I’ll give myself A- because there were some parts I had hard time recording, so I wanted to stop the project.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
This is quite hard for me to answer since I worked alone but I needed to fight myself to record the songs. I kept on failing and messing up.

ReplyDeleteWhat math concepts were you trying to teach?
I was trying to teach the properties you can use during problem solving. (commutative, associative, identity, inverse and multiplying 0)
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I feel like I successfully accomplished my goal, because I think our (David and me) song had explained well what the properties are.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learnt about the basic properties of math which I included in the song. (commutative, associative, identity, inverse and multiplying 0)
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I created the lyrics with David. I recorded the song and helped David edit to make the song perfect.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I would give myself an A because I contributed and I think our finished product is satisfying.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think I’ll need to be able to create lyrics better and faster because it took us a long time to create the lyrics. Also, I think I would have to stay on task more because the amount of time it took for us to create the song was long.
1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteThe addition of integers.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
Yes, because me and Doohwan successfully putted all the rules of addition and mad it in to good music.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned how to add integers and the rules of it.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I helped him to find good music that matches the lyric.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
B- because this was the first time doing it so it was kind of hard to make it, so I think we made few mistakes.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think our group should work more because we didn’t have a lot of time so we kind of rushed a little.
Self-Reflection Questions:

Answer the following questions on the class blog under “Integer Song Self-Reflection.”
1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
We were trying to give concepts to the listeners how to add positive integers by putting some key concepts in some of our lyrics in our song
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think we could of done better if we had a bit more time. We had to rush at the end a little cause of the fact that we couldn't meet again.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned that making a song is a lot harder then I have expected.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I contributed by adding lyrics that were good to describe our topic and by working together hard with Junsu.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I think we deserve a A , A- because we tried out best and we stayed on task thanks to my partner, and I came to his house three times which were sleep overs.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
We needed a skill of being more confident and being able to make lyrics that fit in the song.
What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteThe math concepts that I was trying to teach is about coordinate planes.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I feel like I successfully accomplished my goal because me and Michelle gave all the information that we should have given and it seemed to be clear for the listener what the song was about and what they would have learned.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned throughout this process that making a song is actually harder than I thought and I also learned more about coordinate planes.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I chose the song, helped make lyrics, and sang the song with Michelle.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I would give an A or a A- on group-work because me and Michelle worked hard together to chose the song, make the lyrics, and sing the song.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I don’t really think that I need to improve on group skills, but, if I am ever doing a project that involves singing, I would like to improve on singing.
1. The math concept that I was trying to teach are coordinate planes.
ReplyDelete2.I think my partner and I did accomplish our goal because we showed what they and how to use and identify it. The only thing we didn’t accomplish was what to use it for.
3. I learned throughout this about coordinate planes. Most of it I knew, but some of the information was new.
4. I specifically tried to make the song sound good. I also tried to make sure it made sense and all the information was true.
5. I would give myself at least an A- because I think I did pretty good with group work with Erica. The minus is there because I think we could of done a little bit better on getting it done.
6. I think the one group skill I have to improve on the most is conflict solving. When there is a problem, I think I should be able to solve it better.
What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteJessie and I were trying to teach how to multiply and divide integers.
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
Yes, I feel like I successfully accomplished my goal because we explained that different-signed integers have a negative product/quotient, and that same-signed integers have a positive product/quotient, and that’s all you have to know to be able to divide and multiply integers. In addition, we also gave examples of dividing and multiplying integers, which I am proud of.
What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned how difficult it was to create a song, even if we already had the tune of the song made for us. Creating the lyrics was a big challenge, and Jessie and I struggled with it quite a bit. I also learned how difficult it was to do a project with a friend. It was hard for us both to stay on task, and we fooled around a bit when we met outside of school. Doing a project with a friend might be fun, but it also has cons.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I wrote all of the original lyrics, and sang with Jessie during different parts of the song. I also chose our song, and helped edit the raw recording of our voices and the song in Garageband.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I would give myself an A on group-work. This is because Jessie and I worked well together, and completed our assignment smoothly and on time. Although we didn’t always work on the assignment, we cooperated well together and used teamwork to complete our project. It required a fair amount of work to finish our song, and we worked hard to do so.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think the most obvious skill we need to improve on is staying on task. Sometimes, when we were supposed to be working on the project (at Jessie’s house), we slipped a bit and goofed off. At certain moments, we forgot what we had to do, and went on Facebook or did something else completely unrelated to the project. However, we came back to reality fairly quickly each time this happened, so I’m not concerned about us having trouble staying on task.
We were trying to teach how to multiply and divide integers.
ReplyDeleteI think I did because we explained how to solve multiplying and dividing integers and we also gave examples. Our goal was to be able to sing so they can understand how to multiply and divide integers.
I learned that we should use our time wisely, when we got the time. Then, we would have been finished and we would have more time to edit the song. I also learned that that using a slow song would be the best because the songs that go fast are hard to understand for the audience and it’s hard for us to song too.
I edited the lyrics after Alie, I sang the song and had Alie sing the duet with me. I also, edited the song and exported it.
I would give our group and A because, we tried very hard on this project and I made a big improvement from last year’s project. We met a couple of times, recording over and over again.
Staying on task because we would sometimes waste some time doing other things. We didn’t waste much time, but after doing it a couple of times, we realized that all the time we wasted added up to be a lot.
What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteI was trying to teach about distributive property and how to solve distributive property well.
Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think we successfully accomplished our goal of writing lyrics but I think we didn’t really did a great job on recording the songs.
What did you learn throughout this process?
Throughout the process, I learned about how to cancel out the parenthesis by using the distributive property.
What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
Ina wrote the lyrics and downloaded the instrumental version of Rockteer. I recorded our voices in garage band and edited it.
What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I would give ourselves A (96%). Why I give ourselves A(96%) is because our lyrics fitted well in the song. Also, we tried our best to include everything we know about distributive property in our song. One thing I am sorry about our project is that we couldn’t include many things about distributive property because we couldn’t fit the (lyrics) information.
What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
Our group skill that we have to improve is putting more information in our lyrics. We were too worried to make the song flow fluently that we couldn’t really pay attention on lyrics :( Next time, we will try to include the information and make the song flow.
1. What math concepts were you trying to teach?
ReplyDeleteOur group was trying to teach and make other people know the ‘distributive property’.
2. Did you feel like you successfully accomplished your goal? Why or why not?
I think I pretty much successfully accomplished my goal. Our goal was to try to teach everyone the property as accurately as possible. However, I think our pronunciations were a bit off because of the sound effects.
3. What did you learn throughout this process?
I learned most on ‘teamwork’. Since I’ve came to KIS, teamwork was pretty hard for me in assignments and projects. I learned different ways to accomplish great teamwork and I hope and know that I will be better next time. And of course, I learned a lot about distributive property to, hehe.
4. What did YOU specifically do to contribute to this project?
I specifically was the one that first looked and found the music and crated the lyrics for our ‘Distributive Property’ song. My partner, Victoria, helped very much on lyrics too, but her job was to edit on Garageband. Even though we contributed differently on this project, we helped each other.
5. What letter grade would you give yourself on group-work and why?
I think I would give myself a B+ for group-work. I improved much, much more than 6th grade teamwork projects/assignments and I think I did a pretty good job for teamwork in this assignment, but I think about 5 percent needs to be better. It’s hard for me to decide what my partner will do and what I will do to save time and use time wisely, so I think if I work on that, soon I will be an A.
6. What one group skill do you think you need to improve on the most? (staying on task, contributing more, conflict solving, etc.)
I think my most group skill that I need to improve on is using time wisely. Even before elementary started, I always ended up doing something totally opposite of what I have to do; such as when I need to do my assignment, five minutes later I’m calling on Skype. This was a major hit to my assignment grade, and this year I want to kill this bad habit.
